Gail Hoefler Memorial Stage

Our Champagne Pops stage is proudly named in loving memory of Gail Hoefler, a cherished member of the ASO community and a dedicated patron of the arts.

It was her love of music that brought Gail and her husband Brian together; the pair met while playing French horn in the marching band at Cornell University.

After moving to Anchorage in 1991, Gail and Brian immediately became integral members of the Anchorage Symphony "family". They were instrumental in bringing works to life as founding and continuing members of the ASO's commissioning club, Musica Nova, as well as long-time sponsors of the Conductor's Podium. Gail also loved hosting a table at the Champagne Pops gala each year.

Beyond her passion for music, Gail served the Anchorage community as the first Executive Director of the Alaska Botanical Garden, as well as a long-time board member and volunteer. She was also an active volunteer in the Girl Scouts and Nordic Skiing Association as well as the "potato mom" at Huffman Elementary School.

The ASO is incredibly grateful to the Hoefler family for their generosity, ensuring Gail's vibrant spirit and love for music live on through every performance on this stage.
