I wish you could have seen the students’ faces when they heard the symphony for the first time. Their jaws dropped open, wide-eyed in disbelief to feel the power of music. There was a range of hearing loss from hard-of-hearing to deaf students. They use small cardboard pizza boxes to feel the rhythm. The addition of dancers, stories and audience participation brilliantly held their interest for the entire performance. Thank you for bringing this opportunity and unforgettable experience to them.

Dear Symphony Orchestra,

I would like to thank each and everyone of the Symphony Orchestra.  Thank you for the tickets to the 70th Opening night of the Symphony.  Thank you for the experience we shared with my mom.  I especially enjoyed the pianist Joyce Yang’s performance.  She has an enormous talent and she made me want to work harder at practicing my flute.  Someday I want to perform in front of many people and make my parents proud of me.  After the concert I shared my experience with my family and couldn’t stop talking about how happy it made me feel.  Thank you again and may the lord bless each and everyone of you.  It was my mom and I first symphony.  I remember my mom always saying how one day she wanted to go see the symphony but she couldn’t afford it.  She was so happy.  It was a wonderful, exciting, and a beautiful performance.  I felt so inspired and will work hard and practice playing my flute.
